Why the whole business is aimed at trades
Because it's the work I'm best set up to do well, and because the gap is obvious. Most trades on this coast are either invisible on Google or sitting behind a website somebody's nephew started in 2021 and never finished.
A trades website has a narrow job. Someone with a problem, on a phone, needs to reach you in about three seconds. That's a solvable problem with a known answer, which is why I can put a fixed price on it instead of scoping every job from scratch.
What you're actually buying from a one-man studio
The good part: nothing gets handed to a junior, the person who quoted you is the person who builds it, and there's no account manager between you and the work.
The honest part: if I'm booked, you wait. If I'm crook, you wait. There's no support desk at nine at night and no second designer to take over your job. For a big multi-branch business that's a real problem and you'd be better off with an agency. For a one-van trade it almost never is.
About the name
People ask. It's a long story and it isn't a good one. What matters is on the websites page: what things cost, how long they take, and what you own at the end.
